About Discount Calculator

Retail promotions express savings as percent off or dollar off. A discount calculator computes the final price and money saved without mental math errors.

Stacking coupons, loyalty rewards, or tax may change checkout totals beyond this simple percent-off model.

CalculatorCamp provides educational shopping math, not financial advice. Currency labels are display-only.

How to use this tool

Enter original price and discount percentage. Calculate for sale price and amount saved.

Formula & methodology

This discount calculator applies the standard relationship below. Intermediate values are kept at full precision; only the displayed result is rounded.

sale = price x (1 - discount/100); saved = price - sale

Worked example

An item priced at 2,500 with 20% off: discount = 2,500 × 0.20 = 500, so you pay 2,500 − 500 = 2,000 and save 500. For stacked offers (20% then a further 10%), apply them one after another rather than adding them to 30%.

Tips for accurate results

  • Compare unit prices after discount for bulk items.
  • Additional tax may apply on discounted price depending on jurisdiction.
  • Verify whether discount applies to MSRP or already-reduced price.
  • Enter amounts in the currency you shop in—no auto conversion.
